Abstract
The research problem to be presented is a consultant assignment and routing problem from a national consulting firm. Consultants are homed geographically in different locations. Each consultant has a developed skill set and assigned service priority preference. Each consultant visit to client requires a specific skill from the consultant and each client has an assigned priority. The consultant assignment needs to match the consultant skill with the visit requirement and client priority with consultant preference. The assignment solution is clustered based to reduce the computation complexity. The routing solution consists of two parts: the flight routing among the clusters and the driving routing among the clients within each cluster. The model solution not only replaces the tedious manual process of scheduling, but also tremendously reduces the consultant travel cost.
