香港大学材料科学博士。与剑桥大学、罗尔斯·罗伊斯公司合作,对应用于大飞机发动机上的单晶叶片进行研究,在单晶叶片的偏析和缩松研究方面取得成绩,该项研究对提高大飞机发动机运行的可靠性及寿命有重要帮助。
